Does feeling happy depend on what you eat?
In many ways… YES!
What a pleasant surprise to discover that happiness can be simple and easy. For example:
- Normal healthy breakfast
- Then throw in sunflower seeds (raw, unsalted), they contain serotonin; serotonin is our happiness chemical, 1/4 cup every morning is a great way to start the day
- Also include dark chocolate, it too has serotonin; 6 little squares in the morning for breakfast, along with the sunflower seeds, seems like a magic formula for leaving the house in a great mood
It’s recommended to eat these consistently every single morning at about the same time of day.
All things in moderation though. Six little squares of dark chocolate certainly are wonderful, but nine or twelve are terrible and dangerous.
The nice thing about feeling happy is that daily challenges don’t seem nearly as tough as they otherwise would.
(BTW, milk chocolate is the opposite of dark chocolate. Milk chocolate can make you feel depressed. Small challenges seem like monster challenges when you’re feeling down due to milk chocolate overload.)
